The many friends of Mr A. E. Harrison, of reilding, will be pleased to learn that he lias made a good recovery from .his recent accident when he was knocked from his- bicxclc bi a motor-car. Mr G. R. droll, supervising engineer for Messrs Borthwith and Co., oi Masterton, was a visitor to Fcilding yesterday. The many friends in Fcilding of Mr Til. G. Thomas, formerly of Feil'ding and now manager of the Union Bank of Australia at New Plymouth, will regret to learn that lie is seriously ill with heart trouble. Clients of the bank assembled in Fcilding yesterday at a farewell gathering to Mr ,T. B. Stewart, local manager, passed a vote of sympathy to Mr Thomas. Mr J. B.'Stewart, manager of the Fcilding branch of the Union Bank of Australia, who has been transferred to Whakatanc, was on Thursday tendered a farewell luncheon by clients of the bank. Mr G. F. Loiley, successor to Mr Stewart, was also the guest of the gathering. Mr C. Jlausmann voiced regrets of the gathering and presented to Mr Stewart a barometer and a case of pipes, and to Mrs Stewart a coffee service. Mr Hugh Burrell spoko on behalf of the farming interests. Mr Stewart suitably replied and the Mayor. (Mr ( . E. Tailor) extended a welcome to Mr Honey.
