Aeroplane Engines Sold to Germany
PRANCE QUESTIONS BRITAIN. United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Wednesday,, 7 p.m. LONDON, May 8. It is learned that the French Ambassador sought an explanation from the British Government respecting recent German orders to British firms tox SO aeroplane engines and received a reply that the Government always sought, to discriminate between engines intended for military and civil use. guch discrimination was difficult in practice, especially in the case of s State disclaiming the possession of an\ military aeroplanes. It was impossible in peace time to ban exports ostensibly of a commercial character.
