Regarding the incident on the Diomede on Labour Day, when certain New Zealand ratings sang “The Red Flag,’’ the Minister of Defence (the flon. J. G. Cobbe) stated to-day that he had been in communication with the Commodore concerning the published reports, and had; ascertained that the matter was quite trivial, and such as would not have been reported but for the published statements.. The Minister deplored any wrong impression which may have been created by the undue prominence given to eo small an incident. ,
