St David’s Church Choir

heard in tuneful cantata A musical treat was provided those who attended the 'presentation of the beautiful cantata, “Saviour of Men” (Jamoureau), by members of St. David’s Church Choir and friends on Friday evening. Under the capable conductorship of Mr T. P. Henderson the various choruses were admirably sung and tho assistance of some of the city’s most talented vocalists added greatly to the pleasuro of the evening. The soloists were Miss J. Lauren son (soprano), Mrs F. McLachan and Miss M. Walker (altos), Messrs J. Rodgers and J. Buglass (tenors), Mr T. E. Douds, L.T.C.L. (bass). The following solos wore also contributed: “Hold Thou My Hand” (Miss Laurenson), "Consider and Hear Me” (Mr Douds), "O Rest in the Lord” (Miss Walker), “If With All Your Hearts” (Mr Rodgers). Miss M. Muirhead, F.T.C.L., at the piano and Miss E. Allen at tho organ, with Misses C. Wood and F. Howley (violins) and Misses Y. Wood and G. McKenzie (’cellos), completed a very satisfying combination of musicians.
