Feilding Municipal Band

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. Tho committee of the Feilding Alunicipal Band met on Thursday evening, Air. C. S. Jeffs presiding in the absence of the president, Air. T. Collins. There were also present: Alessrs. C. Crisp, T. H. Hope, J. Madden, E. Hastie, B. Garlick, W. H. Clayton, G. Wilkinson and O. C. Sporle. The secretary (Mr. N. C. Harding) reported upon correspondence received with regard to the proposed combined bands art union. He stated that the idea was that if it were not possible to obtain a straight out ar.t union for the combined bands, then application would be made for a share of the proccdes of one of the art unions in the future. Alessrs. Hope and Sporle were appointed tho visiting committee for November. In connection with the proposed carnival, Alessrs. Garlick and Crisp were appointed to represent the band on the executive. Consideration was given the matter of the forthcoming Wellington Competitions following which it was decided that owing to lack of finance the band could not be^entered. Tho committee decided to leave in Mr. Collins’ hands tho arranging of further concerts with the Cheltenham Women’s Institute.
