Longburn
From Our Own Correspondent,
The Longburn Miniature Rifle Club met Bulls, tho challengers, in a McKelvie Cup match held on tho Longburn range on Thursday evening. Tlio match was won by Bulls with a score of 10S9 against Longburn’s 1083. W. Birch was top scorer for Longburn with a double pos - slide, while others to gain possibles were M. Cooksley and 11. Mabey. For Bulls, E. Broughton, T. Prichard, M. Banks and C. Broughton scored possibles. Mr. and Mrs. Hearsay gave an enjoyable party recently. The evening was spent at competitions and dancing, mu competitions being won by Miss L. Hearsay, Mr. I. Fraser, Miss E. Jeffrey and Mr. A. Fisher.
Mr. and Mrs. L. Steele have returned to Palmerston North after spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Johnston. The friends of Mr. S. Neilsen, of Karere road, will regret to hear (bat he is suffering from pneumonia.
Miss C. Rowlands has been appointed to the staff of Terrace End school and Will take charge of the children's clas~room at the Public Hospital.
