Church Services

■ Evangelist Hinrichsen will speak at both services in the Church of Christ this Sunday. At the evening service he will speak on the question, “Why Believe the Bible ?” It will bo an appeal to reason for our faith in the Bible as being the Word of God. Mr Parker leads the community singing. 1 The services at St. Andrew’s on Sunday will both be conducted by Rev. J.- S. Pate, late of Levin. In the morning he will preached upon the subject, “The Root of the Matter,” and in the evening on “Prevention Better than Cure.” All are heartily invited.

The preachor at the Baptist Church to-morrow will be tho Dev. S. J. Gilbert, of Feilding. His subjects for morning and evening will be respectively: “It makes me think, and I hate to think,’’ and “The fool hath said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’’’ At the United Evangelical Church tho pastor, Mr Wesley Richards, will preach at 11 o’clock to-morrow on the subject, "Great revelations of Jesus Christ, revealing His eternal and absolute Deity,” and in tho evening ho will continue his special addresses on God’s man of the ages, ivhen the subject will bo “Abraham to tho captivity.” These addresses are proving more interesting each Sunday evening. Special services will be the order of tho day at Emmanuel Congregational Church, Broadway, to-morrow, when Thanksgiving Day will bo celebrated, special offerings being taken at each service. The preacher at both services will bo Bcv, C. G'. H. Bycroft, and the subject at the morning service will be “The joy and blessing of giving.” Aservice will bo held, at the public hospital at 5.30 p.m., when Mr D. Browning, wi.ll.be the speaker. Rev. Bycroft will preach again in the church at 7 o’clock, when the subject will be “Startling facts in a General’s thrilling experience.” Miss Nellie Killick will render tho solo and the choir the anthem. A very warm invitation is extended to visitors and strangers to tho city to worship at the Congregational Church, Broadway.
