Insurance Representatives Form Manawatu Branch
FOR PROMOTION OF INTERESTS Having a 3 its objects the promotion of all interests and harmonious relationship between insurance agents in tho district as well as elsewhere, a body, to be known as the Insurance Agents’ Association (Manawntu branch), has come into being in the city.
Mr E. 11. Spencer presided over a rocent meeting called for this purpose, there being an attendance of 32, while several apologies for unavoidable absence were received. The chairman explained that the newly-formed association had the support of 31 chief agents, 10 inspectors and a number of sub-agents in Palmerston North, in addition to various agents in adjoining towns.
The formation of the branch was confirmed and it was decided that membership should bo restricted to agents of associated insurance companies, the representatives of such agents, or the direct representatives of the Associated Insurance Companies. A letter was received from the Wellington Fire and Accident Underwriters' Association approving of the formation of a branch and offering any assistance required. Tho officers of tho branch have been elected as follow:—Chairman, Mr E. H. Spencer; committee, Messrs R. H. Pavitt, M. J. MeArtnoy, T. M. N. Rodgers, F. C. Algar and H. W. Mullaney (secretary) .
