The consultations between the representatives of British Empire countries during and subsequent to the World Economic Conference were "certainly very worth while,” in the opinion of Mr. Forbes, who was hero on Sunday. Ho will visit Toronto, Niagara Falls and Chicago. He said tho conference itself was "not a big success, nor yet a big failure.” Ho had nothing to say as to the nature of his recent conversations with tho Minister of Trade and Commerce (Mr. Stevens). When asked regarding tho possibility of again extending the New Zca-land-Canada trade treaty, Mr. Forbes remarked that tho convention did not expire until November 24. Ho did not indicate what action was contemplated by cither the Canadian or New Zealand Government. Mr. Forbes left for Toronto on Sunday night following a discussion with the acting-Prcmicr (Sir George Pcrlcy.) and the Minister of Trade. The conversation, it is understood, traversed the whole field of reciprocal trade between Canada and New Zealand, with special attention to New Zealand butter importation to Canaffi'-
