Saturday’s Professional Road Race
On Saturday afternoon the Counties Cash Cycling Club held a race to Feilding and return a distance of M miles. The start was from Terrace End and the cyclists travelled by way of Vogel street, Boundary road ana Railwav road to Bunnythorpe and re turned the same way. _ The weather was ideal for cycling with a head wind on the home journey. W. Collins broke the previous record over this route which was held by C. Jennings, Collins doing the distance in Ihr. 2min. 32sec. The race resulted: B. Alcßrearty (12min.) Ihr. 7 min. W. Rodgers (Icrnin.) Ihr. lOmin. . A. Ganderton (Simin.) Ihr. smin. 39see 3 Also started: W. Collins and AI. Luxmoore (4miu.) Collins made fastest time taking Ihr. 2min. 32sec. for the trip. The race next Saturday will be over the same route. A ham competition run by the cyclists was won by Air. B. R. Tasker.
