RESULTS OP WEEK-END PLAY Several competitions were conducted at tho Palmerston North Golf Club’s links over the week-end, when favourable playing conditions prevailed. Tho best cards -eturned in tho bogey handicap were:— J. Watt 2 up. L. G. Callis all square. T. Clausen 1 down. A. W. Chapman 1 down. B. Alarsack 1 down. J. Coupe 2 down. R. WriCumberworth 2 down. J. Flaying in a match for the Goldfinch and Cousins cup, H. Bott beat J. Walsh; C. Rumm beat H. Bennett. Four-Ball Competition, There was only one game in the fourball competition, and in this match Beuaett and Cumberworth halved with Marsack and Guy. A Second “Infringement.” During the week-end’s play at the Palmerston North links, E. W. Cu: .berworth distinguished himself by holing in one in the course of one of his matches. The scene of this feat was the fourth holo on the links, Plateau, tno distance being 140 yards. The player had to pay the penalty in the approved fashion, interest being added to the occasion by tho knowledge that this was his second “infringement” of t o season, the previous performance being credited to him at Hokowhitu last April.

NAPIER TOO GOOD FOR MANAWATU

During the week-end a team from tho Alanaw’atu Golf Club journeyed to Napier and played a series of matches on the Waiohiki links. Palmerston met teams which were too strong for them, Napier winning 6J games to Palmerston’s 24 in the four-ball matches and respectively 144 games to 34 in the singles. Ideal weather was experienced and the visiting team enjoyed the trip. The following are detailed results (Manawatu players mentioned first): Four-ball: Ekstedt and L. Seifert junr. beat Troutbeck and Geddis; Glendinning and O. Williams lost to Fryer and Davies; Alurray and T. Louisson lost to Harrison and Lawry; Ingham and McKee lost to Sinclair and J. RHobbs; Aloore and Fitzlierbert lost to H. Lawrence and Dalgleish; Hewat and Goldingham beat Stevensen and Herrick; Rawson and Dickens lost to Williams and Harvey; J. Louisson and Whyte lost to Wylie and C. Louisson; Wimsett and Neal halved with Benson and Aloody. Singles: Ekstedt beat Troutbeck; L.
