Blue Shirts' Sunday Parade Banned
SURPRISE DEVELOPMENT
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, Aug. IS. A surprise development in Dublin 5:; tantamount to a ban on ‘‘Blue Shirt' ’ parades on Sunday. It is declared that the Government has already clearly indicated that public parades of uniformed or armed men, other than Free State Forces, will not be permitted. Apparently .the National Guard intends to ignore the warning, which is now repeated. Should such parades be attempted the Government has no alternative but to proscribe the organisations concerned. Mr de Valera says he does not believe the situation is yet secure, and the new armed police will be maintained as a special force, though available for service as an ordinary force. “Will Be Held,” Says General O’Duffy Received Monday, 12.15 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 20. General G’Duffy told the Sunday Express the parades of Blue Shirts will be held on Sunday, as arranged.
