A resolution was passed: "That this meeting of tho U.AV.M. protests against tho trial of militant workers under tho AA’ar Eegulations Act, which Act deprives them of trial by jury."

The decision of the Transport Appeal Board regarding the Railways Board proposal to co-ordinate the service, from Thames, Pacroa, AVaihi and Tc Arolia to Auckland with the railway at Pokeno, 40 miles from Auckland, has been announced. The effect of tho proposal would bo impracticable, but co-ordination w r as desirable at Ngatea between Thames and Pacroa. Tho AVaihi to Auckland services eliminate ono through trip alternately. The details aro left to tho No. 2 Licensing Authority, also minor timetable adjustments on tho Waihi-Paeroa service.

A car driven by Mrs. E. AVilson, of 71 Eeatkerstone street, w-ith her eight-year-old son as passenger, came into collision with another car driven by Mr. G. M. Mitchell, of AorangL road, Kairanga, in Eangitikei street on Saturday night. The lad AVilson received injuries to tho head in tho region of the eyes by glass and was removed to a private hospital by the Free Ambulance. Of tho passengers in the other car, Miss Moana Mitchell, sister of the driver, suffered a severe blow over the left eye. Both cars were badly damaged, Mr. Mitchell’s having to be towed away.

Following the business at the annual general meeting of the Northern Bowling, Tennis and Croquet Club to-night, the committee has arranged an attractive social programme of vocal and musical numbers, following which a dainty supper will bo served and the evening will conclude with dancing till 12 o’clock.
