From Our Own Correspondent. A most enjoyable euchre and dance run by the Ladles’ Basketball Club was held last Wednesday. The function proved an outstanding success, both socially and financially, the committee responsible being Misses Feist, K. Dixon, B. Beard, Simmons and M. Quarrie. The prize-winners for the euchre were:— Ladies, E. Donaldson, men’s, R. Paki. The consolation prizes went to D. Sargisson and E. Russell. Music for the dance, which was mainly old-time, Was kindly supplied by Miss MacKenzie and Mr D. Alve. The wlhers of the Lucky Gay Gordons were Miss E. Simmons and Mr E. Russell. The lucky person, to win the box of tea proved; to be Miss Ashby, of Palmerston North. Mrs Russell (president), presented the prises and thanked the musicians and the door-keeper (Mr Lover), who had .• so generously given their services. Extras for dancing were played by Mrs Mora and Mr F. Waller. The capable M.C. (Mr Ryan), ' kept the dance going with a swing until a very late hour. Among those present were:— Mesdames Russell, brown marocain, Beard, black and floral marocain, Donaldson, black celanese, H.
