Plunket Society Reports for the Month

Apologies wero received from Alesdames A. E. Mansford, A. A. Langley, A. Robinson, H. B. Bennett and Miss McLagan. The secretary reported having received a cheque for £5 5s from the Palmerston North branch of the Mana-watu-Wanganui provincial council of the Licensed Cictullers’ Association, £2 2s of which they asked bo accoptcd as a donation to branch funds, £3 3s to be set aside to provide emulsion for necessitous cases. —Hearty appreciation was expressed of this generous contribution and kindly thought. Tho nurse’s report for tho month ot May stated that 1253 visits had been paid to the office, comprising Oil adults, 500 babies, 7!) older children, while the visits to homes totalled 217. Fortyfour now cases had been added to the books. Parcels of clothing were gratefully acknowledged from Mcsdames McEwan, Colpman, Young, Robinson, Morse, Thompson and E. Christensen. Five visits had been paid to Foxton where visits to the offico totalled .127 (03 adults, 50 babies, 14 older children), 15 visits being paid to homes. There were two new cases.

Sales for the month of karilae, etc., amounted to £33 2s 9d. Membership fees were acknowledged from Mrs. Dibble 10s, Mrs. Wasncy ss, Mrs. Crowley ss, Mrs. F. L. Donnelly ss, also donations from Mrs. Clegg Gs, r.irs. Alan Guy 10s, while the sum of £1 14s had accrued from the collection box, making a total of £3G 17s 9d. —The report was adopted. Accounts -were passed for payment and tentative arrangements were made for the annual meeting on july 4, provided that date suited the Mayor, Mr. A. E. Mansford, to preside. Miss Rose, matron of the Karitane Hospital, Wanganui, lias been asked to speak.
