Pleasant Parties For Dr. Haycock And Miss Galbraith

Misses Spcnsley aud Burdctt were tho hostesses at a delightful party given at Hcretaunga street on Thursday evening when Dr. Ellen Hcycock and Miss J. Galbraith were the guests of honour. Dr. Jleycock, who severs her connection with the Palmerston North. Hospital to-day, is going Home to further her studies, and Miss Galbraith, formerly masseuse at the hospital, is making a holiday visit. Violets and greenery ornamented the room and on arrival tho guests of tho evening were presented with dainty posies by tho hostesses and accorded musical honours. Novelty bridgo created great fun and there was much speculation as to tho farewell telegrams each guest had brought and which tho travellers will open after they embark. Supper was served and opportunity was taken to wish Dr. Heycock and Miss Galbraith "bon voyage" and a safe return.

Miss Spenslcy wore cherry georgette and lace, Miss Burdctt being in beige georgette and iace. Dr. Hcycock's frock was of deep red crushed volver, Miss Galbraith wearing brack georgette with green panne bridge coat. Others present were Mrs. Hcycock (New Plymouth), Mrs. F. Opic, Mrs. Gowing, Mrs. G. Burnett, Misses H. Galbraith, Griffin, F. Fowier, Patrick Ronnie, Major, .McPherson and Dr. Craig. On Wednesday afternoon members of the nursing staff of the Palmerston North Hospita l entertained Dr. Hoycock and Miss Galbraith at a very pleasant tea party held at the Nurses' Home. Both Ihe guests of honour were presented with boucpxets and Dr. Heycock was presented with a gold pencil, Miss Galbraith receiving a book, the acting-matron, Miss Gedney, making the presentations and voicing the good wishes of the nursing staff. Dr. Heycock and Miss Galbraith feeling expressed their thanks.
