Smith Lands at Capetown
RECORD CLAIMED TOR PLIGHT

A huge crowd welcomed Victor Smith when landing at Capetown. The airport administrator in claiming a record, pointed out that Smith crossed the Cape borders with ten hours in hand, in comparison to the previous record.
Smith said he passed through four tornadoes and time after time the plane went into a spin. Owing to a terrific head wind he made a forced landing and luckily saw a tent, the owner of which was a New Zealander named Davis, who befriend ed him. Otherwise, ho might have wandered for days.
