Motorists Fined
MAGISTRATE'S COURT CASES,
Air J. L. Stout, S.AI., presided at the Palmerston North Magistrates Court yesterday. Mrs W. Mcßae was fined £2 with £1 13s costs for exceeding the speed limit at tho intersection of Main and Ruahinc streets.
Ronald Netten, who failed to give way to traffic approaching from the right, was fined £1 with 10s costs. R. W. Parkinson was fined £2 with 10s costs for failing to keep to the left of the centre line when turning a corner.
John A. Silver pleaded guilty to parking on an area that was temporarily closed on Christmas Eve. Air AlcLeavcy, for defendant, submitted that the by-law was unreasonable in expecting a taxi when setting down a. passenger and luggage, to have to forego pulling up against the kerb against the shops and instead stop on tho other side cf the road and the driver carry luggage across. His Worship entered a conviction and ordered defendant to pay costs only, 10s.
