From Our Own Correspondent. Tho fortnightly meeting of tho M.U. (1.0.0. F.) Lodge was held on Wednesday evening, N.G. Bro. 11. Meads presiding over a large attendance, including the P.D.G.M., Bro. 11. J. Fowler, the D.D.G.M., Bro. T. Fowells, and members of the Apiti, Marton and Rangitikei Lodges. Business was the installation of officers and general. One sick claim was passed for payment. P.D.G.M. Bros. Fowler presented tho N.G. of tho lodge with the Dilk’s collar, which is held each year bv the lodge having the highest average of new members for the past year per member This lodgo also had the second lowest average for sick pay paid out per member. The new officers installed were: 1.P.N.G., Bro. H. Meads; N.G., Sister Carey; E.S., Sister N. Means; L.S., Bro. J. Carr; N.G., Bro. W. Coupcr; E-S., Bro. K. Carey; L.S., Sister D. Collie; L.M-, Sister A. Boshior; E.S., Bro. J. A. Coupcr; Warden, Bro. E. Mcieso; Guardian, Bro. J. Boshicr; pianist, Bro. J. Martin. After the close of the meeting a tasty supper was served after which dancing was continued till a late hour. Plunket Society
The annual meeting ol’ the local subbranch of the Taihapc Plunket Society was held at the home of Mrs. A. Morgan on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs R. H. Guthrie, secretary of thcMangav/eka branch, presided over a very •mod attendance. The secretary, Miss D. Iv. McKenzie, reported a successful year, and as this branch is in a very good financial position, it was decided to send a dohation of Li to i the Mangawcka branch. Airs. . . w. Jewell was elected secretary of the: branch for the coming year. Tennis Club
The tenuis team visited Kimbolton on Saturday, when the competition for the Haythorno Cup was advanced another stage. Rangiwahia, after some very closo games, finally proved tue winners by 14 sols to 10 sets. The visitors were very well entertained, throughout the day by Ihe ladies of the home club. In the evening the Rangiwahia Club held a dance, but lowing to counter-attractions it was not as well attended as might have been hoped. Mrs. H. Thompson supplied the music throughout the evening. Members are reminded that a full attendance is required on Tuesday for the annual election and also tor the aster competition, for which Air. Haytliorne will be judge and Mrs. J. Thompson steward.
