HOW TO WASH VELVETEEN.

Velveteen requires very careful washing. First shake the velveteen to remove all dust. Make a good, soapy lather in warm water —not hot using pure soap flakes. The material must be steeped in the lather and lifted up and down several times. On no account must it be squeezed, rubbed or wrung. If one part is particularly soiled, a soft brush may be used if the garment is spread flat on a board. Two soapy waters should be used. Allow the water to drain off before rinsing. Two Tinsing waters at least ato necessary. T'he garment should now bo placed either on a coat- hanger or pinned to a cloth and dried out of doors, if possible. Shake it frequently. Iron with a fairly cool iron, and on the wrong side of tho material. A pad made of velvet is an excellent polisher. Make it warm and rub lightly on the right side.
