FIRST MEETING AT FEILDING
There was a fair attendance at the Feilding Whippet Racing Club’s first meeting held on Monday afternoon on the Feilding racecourse. Dogs from Napier, Palmerston North and Feilding competed. Mr. Otto Raisamen was the judge, Mr. R. Mclntosh starter, Mr. C. Stevens assistant-starter, and Mr. D. Hastie timekeeper. The results of the races wore: —■ Palmer handicap, 175 yards. —First heat: E. L. Day’s Mistress Dixie (11) 1, Mrs. McPherson’s Delalield (13) 2; time, llsec. Second heat: A. H. Packer’s Roamer (10) 1, J. Watt’s Foreign Queen (12) 2; time, 10 3-ssee. Final: Mistress Dixie 1, Delafield 2, Roamer 3, Foreign Queen 4; time, 10 4-ssec. Novice puppy race, 150 yards, all scratch.—First heat: D. McPherson’s Eight Bells 1, T. A. Packer’s Gold Bag 2; time, 11 l-ssec. Second heat: G. Malcolmson’s Joic de Val 1, W. J. Leader’s Sandstar 2; time, 11 3-ssec. Third heat: Miss M. Prior’s Lady Gay 1, W. J. Leader’s Sasanof 2; time, 10 4-ssee. Semi-final: Joic de Val 1, Eight Bells 2. Second semi-final: Sandstar 1, Lady Gay 2; time, 10 3-ssec. Final: Joie de Val 1, Lady Gay 2; time, 10 l-ssec.
