Manawatu Tennis Championships

THREE SECTIONS COMPLETED MEN’S DOUBLES TO BROWN AND HANKIN Pine weather again prevailed for the continuation of tlio Manawatu Lawn Tennis Association’s annual championship tournament yesterday. Good progress was made with the games and three sections were completed. The remaining matches are to be finished this week. In the men’s doubles final, Brown and Hankin beat Boddy and McDonald after a very close contest, winning B—lo, 6—4, 6—2. The ladies’ doubles title was won by Mesdamcs Anderson and Beattie, who beat Mrs. Ward and Miss Worrall in tho final in two straight sets. Tho ladies' handicap singles went to Miss Heard (handicap 4), who easily accounted for Miss Wischncwsky (12) in the final.
