Vacation Preliminaries Of Feilding Schools

TO-DAY’S CEREMONIES All three Feilding schools will ■ today mark the commencement of the Christmas vacation with gatherings of a varied nature. Lytton Street School will hold its annual sports meeting at the school this afternoon and in connection with this gathering there will be competitions to interest adults as well as'stalls organised by the Parents’ Association, who desire funds to assist the school committee to pay for the cost of the ground improvements. It is expected that the. chairman of the Wanganui Education Board, will be present, as well as the Mayor of Feilding, and the opportunity will be taken to present the certificates won during the year. Manchester Street School will mark the termination of the year’s work with a grand concert, which will be held at. the school this evening. The children have been trained to present a first-class programme and the gathering should attract a large crowd' of parents and friends. The Convent School will provide for its children a picnic to be held on Kowhni Park and provision has been made for plenty of entertainment for the little ones.
