Engineering Trade Award Cancellation
NO TROUBLE EXPECTED IN WELLINGTON. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. No trouble is anticipated in Wellington, as in Auckland, following tho cancellation of the engineering tradc'award under the recent legislation. Mr. J. Pearce Luke, principal of Luke Bros., Ltd., ironfounders, said this evening that as there appeared to bo a generai slackness of work in the engineering trades here, it did not seem likely that there would bo any trouble. The position was similar to that in Auckland, where many of tho workmen were on part time. In the case of his own firm, Air. Luke said that as yet it had not put the new award into operation.
