Manawatu Automobile Association
MEETING OF COMMITTEE The monthly meeting of the committee of the Alanawatu Automobile Association was held last evening, the president (Air. N. 11. Alaekie) occupying the chair. Others present were Alcssrs. 11. E. Edmunds, W. L. Fitzherbcrt, J. Hodgens, S. G. Rosvall and E. S. Oliver. Apologies were received from Alc-ssrs. W. H. Brown, E. T. Jaggard and AY. Garden.
A letter was received from the Foxton Borough Council, suggesting that the association should consider putting in additional flood indicator posts along the Whirokino road, a.s it was considered that the existing posts were spaced too far apart.—The secretary stated that the posts were tho property of the Alanawatu CouD.tv Council, and it was therefore decided to refer the Foxton Borough Council to that body. Air. Edmunds referred to the danger to motorists driving in the Alanawatu Gorge following frosts, and cited two cases in which accidents had occurred owing to cars skidding on corners when the brakes were applied. —The matter was left with the secretary, to arrange with the Wellington Automobile Club, which operates in that territory, to have warning signs erected.
