From Our Own Correspondent. Air. W. Trueman (president) occupied the chair at a meeting of tho committee of the Herrington Golf Club on Wednesday evening, when there_ were also present Alessrs. AI. B. Bergm, F. A. Alason, A. P. Easton, B. Robinson, D. R. Ogilvic and J. Newton (sccrctary). The following new members were elected: Alessrs. Roy Rooro, G. Woods, W. Hussey, L. Alattar andJM. Baird, and Mrs. F. Woods and Aliss K. Rooro as associate members.
It was decided to obtain tho services of Air. Norman Fuller (professional coach) for April 30 and Alay 1. It was resolved that with tho exception of ex-members, wives of men players and those ladies who had already been invited, no more associate members be accepted for this year.
ANZAC DAY SERVICES
A meeting of tlioso interested was held on Wednesday evening, when matters in connection with services for Anzae Day were discussed. It was decided to hold a commemoration service in tho Town Hall as in former years. The Alayor (Air. AI. E. Porreau) will open tho ceremony, which will be conducted by tho following representatives of tho local churches: Adjutant Parkinson (Salvation Army), Air. E. Field (Anglican), Rev. O. P. Liddell (Alcthodist) and Rev. J. A. E. Preston (Presbyterian). After the servico the gathering will adjourn to the Triangle, where wreaths will bo laid at the base of the soldiers’ memorial. GENERAL The Foxton Bowling Club closes its season to-day. A rinks tournament will be held, and it is expected that a number of visiting rinks will bo present to participate. After being bar-bound for several days the m.v. Foxton sailed yesterday morning for Tarakolic to load cement for Foxton.
