Nations Take Sides On Armament Issues
Sail Francisco Press Broadcast. GENEVA, April 14. Italy, Brazil and Turkey lined up to-day with tho United States and Great Britain in proposing abolition of the aggressive agents of modern warfare. Japan threw her weight to the opposition, joining up with France and the lessor European Powers under domination of the Quai d’Orsay. Backing the American proposals advanced by Ambassador Hugh «S. Gibson, Foreign Minister Grandi. of Italy, presented a plan for progressive reduction of land armaments in three stages, naval disarmament by destruction of battleships, aeroplano carriers and submarines, and a vague plan for fixing limits of aerial strength.
