Nanamay, which up to yesterday had never won a race in her life, bagged a purse at Tanforan and shattered all existing pay-off marks at tho course by paying over fifteen score for a threedollar preferred option, tho third biggest figure ever run up on any American track. Tho winner paid close on the half-century for secondary options. Only six preferred option tickets were sold on Nanamay. However, she won by three lengths from Leader, with Cartago third. The Tanforan meeting was the one at which Phar Lap was to have made his next appearance under silk.
