A.O.F.

The usual fortnightly meeting of Court Manawatu A.O.F. was held on Monday evening when there was a good attendance of members and visiting brethren. Tho meeting was presided over by Bro. P. Burns, P.C.R., when the ordinary routine business was put through. At the conclusion of the Court sitting an enjoyable social was held. Dancing and vocal and instrumental items mado the time pass too quickly, and the function was voted one of: the best yet given under the auspices of tho Court. The dance music was supplied gratuitously by a professional jazz orchestra, while vocal and instrumental items were given by the following: Bros. R. Reid, D. Reid, S. Reid, G. Morinc and Jordan and the Pioneer Trio. The Monte Carlo fox trot was won by Sister Goodwin and Bro. P. Burns, while the prize winners at cards were Sister Stevens and Bro. Hancock. Extras were also acceptably played by Miss Conlin and Messrs C. Lloyd and Scott. During an interval Bro. W. Kells, president, F.S.C., addressed those present, thanking them for the excellent attendance, also mentioning that another function of a similar nature would bo held in the near future, particulars of which would be advertised. Bro. C. K. Lane, C.R., Court Manawatu, also spoko and made eulogistic reference to Bro. Kells’ work in connection with Lodge matters. Bro. Burns made a capablo M.C., ably assisted by Bro. F. Holgerson.
