LINTON STREET BEATS MANAWATU. In the A grade intcr-elub competitions, Palmerston North Club players met and defeated a Manawatu Club team in matches played on the Manawatu courts yesterday afternoon. Details are as follow, Palmerston North players being mentioned lirst: — Men’s singles.—Donald beat Wilkinson 12 —10; A. Ward beat McKenzie 12 —10; A. E. Blackbourn beat Smillie o—6.
Ladies’ singles.—Miss Hollier beat Miss Kirk 7—4; Miss McDonald beat Miss Worrail 7 —5; Miss Barnett beat Miss McKenzie 7 —5; Miss Blackbourn lost to Mrs. Littlejohn 2 —7. Men’s doubles.—Donald and Ward beat Wilkinson and McKenzie 9 —7; Seriven and Blackbourn bent Mclvor and Smillie 9 —5. Ladies’ doubles. —Misses Hollier :.nu McDonald beat Misses Kirk and Worrall B—6;8 — 6; Misses Barnett and Blackbourn lost to Mrs. Littlejohn and Miss McKenzie I—7.1 —7.
