Marking the conclusion of a delightful series of social events interspersed in the programme of the Master Bakers' and Pastrycooks’ conference at Palmerston North this week, the wives and friends of Manawatu and Hawke s Bay delegates were the guests of visiting ladies at afternoon tea. -the function took place at tho Broadway lounge yesterday afternoon, where the tables were brightly adorned with summer blooms. There was a general exchange of compliments, Mrs. H. P. Burton of Auckland, voicing the appreciation of tho visitors for all the kindness they had received from the Manawatu ladies, and Mrs. J. B.
