MAGPIE HOCKEY CLUB’S DANCE Erorn Our Own Correspondent. Last Friday evening, under the auspices of the Magpie Hockey Club, a most successful dance was held. The keen, wintry touch in the air added zest to dancing, for which delightful music was supplied by the Palmerston North Garrison Band stage orchestra. Bright and attractive frocks worn by the fair sex added colour to the scene beneath a canopy of multi-coloured streamers and gay electric lights. Mr. A. Feeney, of Peilding, also assisted with the music, with extras from Mesdames Woodcock and R. Managh, and Miss Flavin. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr. Waldron and Mrs. R. Managh, while Mr. L. Siegel, junr., ably carried out his duties as M.C. Iu the supperroom, with the added comfort of a bright and cheery lire, a sociable time was spent by lovers of euchre. The prizes were won by Miss V. Wheeler and Mr. T. Clapham, the consolation awards going to Mrs. Malone and Mr. J. Heappey, senr. Supper was handed round, after which Mr. F. Saywell, on behalf of the club, thanked all present for their patronage, and all those who had helped to make the evening a success. Mr. Saywclt also presented the euchre prizes.
