International Mercantile Fleet Changes Hands

A PIERPONT MORGAN FAILURE. Received Sunday, 9 p.m. NEW YORK, Aug. 2,

The control of the International Mercantile Marino founded by tho late Picrpont Morgan with a fleet of 46 vessels with an aggregate of 427,000 tons has passed to the Roosevelt Steamship Company. Croit Roosevelt, Basil Harris and John M. Franklin arc to be vice-presidents of the new company, of which R A. S. Franklin remains president. The Disposal of the International Marine’s foreign tonnage is planned by the new company in order to develop the American service. It is also reported that the Pennsylvania and Baltimore Ohio railroad arc interested in tho Roosevelt lino which operates a fleet of 24 motorships from Atlantic ports to the Far East. It is understood these will merge with the new company.
