The return match against the Kairanga Club was played on Saturday on the local courts under very threatening weather and resulted in a good victory for the home team by 12 sets and 87 games to 4 sets and 57 games. The following are the detailed scores Kangiotu players mentioned first: — Men’s Singles. L. J. Walker lost to R. Collis 5—6, W. Larkins beat L. Lancaster 6—4. M. Sayweli beat G. Davey 6—3, K. Beard beat O. A Colis 6 —4. Men’s Doubles. Walker and Larkins lost to E. Collis and Lancaster I—6,1 —6, Sayweli and Beard beat Davey and O. Collis 6 —2. Ladies’ Singles.

Mrs Walker beat Miss B. Martin 6 —o, Miss Dixon beat Mrs Collis 6—3, Miss Bond lost to Miss Collis 4 —6, Mrs Pearce beat Mrs Turner 6—3. Ladies’ Doubles. The return match against the Bongotea Club is to be played on the Bangiotu courts next Saturday and arrangements for a match with the Whakarongo Club are in hand but the date has mat been definitely fixed. The Eangiotu Club is having a most successful season with four successive wins and one loss—the initial match of the season.
