As a set-off to the campaign for longer skirts stocking makers are offering women fresh encouragements to display their limbs in new colours of hosiery such as winerust, goldrust, platinum, loveglow and fadeaway, with the ankles embroidered with flowers, butterflies and animals. Others have spiral designs up the calves, long high clocks to camouflage stoutness or a picture design to minimise thinness.
