DR. KIDSON NEEDED AT HOME. _ \ Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. When the estimate for the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research was before the House, Mr. J. G. Coates inquired why the Rev. D. C. Bates had been sent to tho meterological conference, instead of Dr. Kidson. The Minister (Hon. H. Atmoro) replied that Dr. Kidson’s forecasts had been rapidly improving as he became more familiar with New Zealand conditions and it had been considered it was desirable he should remain in the Dominion. Any information before the conference would be placed at Dr. Kidson’s disposal when Mr. Bates returned.
