MEETING OF A. AND P. EXECUTIVE. Ifr E. Burrell (president) presided ov? a large attendance of the Feilding A «nd P. Association last evening. , welcome was extended the Mayor (j tf C. E. Taylor) who is a vice-presi-dent of the association. The Manawatu Jersey Breeders Club forwarded a cup valued t 12 guineas for the purebred and grade two-year-old heifer class. —A vote of thanks was passed . The thanks of the association were passed to Mr F. J. Ellis (bulls) who donated a trophy valued at two guineas for the Ryeland sheep class. The Southdown Sheep Society intimated that a medal would be donated for the best two-tooth Southdown ram.— Vote of thanks recorded. A letter was received from the Feilding branch of the Farmers’ Union which forwarded a report of the judges on the Boys ’and Girls’ Agricultural Club activities. —It was decided to make a donation of six guineas to the funds of the organisation. No action was taken with regard to a letter from the Putorino Sports Club in respect of the disqualification of a horse at the club’s last meeting. The Manawatu-Oroua branch of the Pig Breeders’ Association advised that the age limit in young pig classes had been fixed at 4, 8 and 14 months. The association recommended the universal adoption of these ages. The president reported that the proposals had been incorporated in the Feilding schedule. Mr C. G. C. Bermer was enthusiastically thanked for a donation of a 25 guinea cup for the best 3-year-old puro- j bred or grade dairy heifer, for annual competition. Reports from the horse, cattle, and sheep schedule committees were received and various recommendations as to the allocation o<f trophies and conditions were adopted. Through Mr L. J. Wild, the association accepted with thanks, a donation of a silver cup from the Red Poll Cattle Association for competition amongst Rod Poll exhibits. The secretary reported that Mr H. 8. Smithers (Feilding) had donated a cup for competition in the cattle classes. The president suggested that it should be allocated to the Friesian section but Mr Dormer thought it would be better if given for most points in the cattle section generally. His suggestion was adopted and the donor thanked. In connection with a donation from Mr Wild, the demonstration of judges competition, it was agreed to leave the appointment of a judge to the cattle schedule committee. The Manawatu A. and P. Association, which promoted the idea of a combined fat lamb exhibit, wrote stating that the main thing was to get the scheme launched with as few restrictions as possible. It was proposed that the exhibits should bo slaughtered at Wellington and shipped Home in one parcel for judging in respect of the first three prizes in the whole parcel. Each competing association might donato ono guinea towards the prize money, which should be 3 guineas for first prize, 2 guineas for second and ono guinea for, third.
