JAPANESE MINE FLOODED BY SEA
FORTY-EIGHT MINERS AND RESCUE SQUAD TRAPPED.
ALL HOPE ABANDONED.
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Wednesday 10 p.m. TOldO, June 26. Forty-eight miners were trapped owing to sea water breaking through into tho Kyushiu coal mine. The rescue squad, whose number is uncertain, has also been cut off through tho bursting of the safety doors and hope of rescue has been abandoned. The mine, which extends a considerable distance under the sea, is completely flooded.
