PHIL SCOTT OUTPOINTS THE GERMAN CHAMPION
BX-AMATEUR TAKES LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE. Australian Press Association. Received Friday, 7 p.m. LONDON, May 3. Phil Scott, the British heavyweight champion, outpointed Ludwig Haymann, the German champion, in fifteen Tounds. Haymann, who lacked ringcraft, received heavy punishment. He was game to the last but crude. Scott always looked the better boxer, but although be seemed to have the German at his mercy, he did not attempt to force matters and boxed coolly to tho end. In the fifteen-round bout for the British lightweight championship, the ex-amateur Fred JVebster, outpointed the title holder Sam Steward.
