Sir Samqcl Hoare, Secretary for Air, stated in the House of Commons that the Government of Southern Rhodesia had announced its willingness to arrange for a contribution of £IO,OOO yearly for a period of five years towards the cost of the projected air service between this country and South Africa. The South African Government had undertaken to provide a substantial portion of the required subsidy, and offers to contribute had also been received from the Administrations of the Sudan, Kenya, Tanganyika, and Uganda. As the result of the ready co-operation on the part of the Administrations mentioned the finances of the service were assured. Sir Samuel Hoare also stated that the airship RIOO was expected to be ready for trial by about the end of May, and RlOl about the end of Juno.
