BRYD’S SLEDGE DOGS ARE NOT DANGEROUS

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The statements by Canterbury, farmers that the sledge dogs attached to the Byrd expedition, if taken to Mount Cook, would be a danger o human beings and stock ,was ridiculed by Mr. A. Innes-Taylor, who is in charge of the 15 dogs now in New Zealand. Mr Innes-Taylor is an ex-member of the Royal North West Mounted Police in Canada, and has had considerable experience in handling the dog referred to. He states that they are of the “husky" breed and were evolved by crossing the Newfoundland or St. Bernard with the wolf.
