LOCK-OUT ALLEGED. OUTCOME OF CLOSING OF NORTHERN FIELDS. United Press Association—By Eleetri* Telegraph—C opyright. Received Friday, 7 p.m. CANBERRA March 22. The Federal Government has decided to take proceedings against the well-known millionaire coalowner, Mr. John Brown, of Newcastle, fqr causing the alleged lock-out on the northern coalfields. The action is taken under the Industrial Peace Act, which forbids any person or organisation bound by an award from doing anything in the nature of a lock-out, or strike. The penalty ranges from £SO to £IOOO. The case will be heard after Eaßter.
