PRIMARY SCHOOLS ATHLETICS

FEUDING ASSOCIATION MEETING At a mooting of the Fcildiug and District Primary Schools Amateur Athletic association, presided over by Air. A. 0. McCorkiudale, the secretary (Mr. E. H. Lunge) reported that the total receipts for the recent sports gathering amounted to £55 15s, and the expenses £3l 10s. The gate receipts and entry fees ■were greater than for the previous year. It was resolved to pay Is per point on the points won at the sports; first Ihrce, second two, and third one. This will absorb £2O. Mr. R. L. Alcllroy, headmaster of the Manchester street school wrote n, letter to the association saying as there haxl been some reference to the age of a boy from his school who had run at the sports, he (Mr. Mcllroy) had written away to get the boy's birth certificate and he found thereby the boy was over age. Lie regret ted-very much the occurrence, and returned the shield for disposal by the association. Air. W. H. McLean said he thought the boy honestly believed lie was under 15, not being sure of his age. He was pii orphan. However, he proposed that the shield be handed to Bunuythorpe, the school second in the championship points. Mr. Lange said lie had gone over the points and found that if Manchester street’s total were reduced by the total of points won by this boy, and Bunnytliorpc were credited with all the third places in the races in which the boy got a place, Manchester street would still have a lead of 11 points over Bunnythorpc. The Committee decided to disqualify the boy and to award the shield to Manchester street.
