MANAWATU TENNIS COUNCIL MEETS.

A meeting of tho management committee of the Manawatu Lawn Tennis association was held last Friday evening. The following were present:— Messrs Salmon (chairman), Worrall, Fox, McMurray, Thompson and _ the secretary. Apologies wore received from Messrs Wesney and Ralfe. A general discussion on the New Zealand Lawn Tennis association’s letter dealing with the subject of junior tennis took place, it being resolved that affiliated clubs were to be circularised asking for particulars. A proposal was received from Mr. Ralfe, of tho Bulls Club, that a B match be arranged with the Wanganui association, the team to consist of six ladies and six men, the first six players on both ladders to be excluded. It was decided to hold this match if posA letter was received from Mr. _Watson resigning the position as president, but it was decided to defer this matter until the next general meeting, when, it is hoped, Mr. Watson’s health will enable him to return to New Zealand and carry on onco again his valuablo services to tcnni3 in this district. " An application for affiliation from the Bunnvthorpc club was accepted. It was desired that a letter of thanks bo written to Mr. Hope Gibbons for his services in connection .with transport arrangements for the recent Wairarapa match.
