Mrs. H. Wilson, of Bulls, is visiting Christchurch. Mrs. Harley is a Waipukurau visitor to Palmerston North. Mrs. Stubbs is an Auckland visitor to Palmerston North. Mian Vera Stace, of Woodville, has left on a visit to Sydney. Mrs. J. Hope Johnston, Marton, is staying with Mrs. Goldingham, Palmerston North. Miss Kathleen Galpin, Marton, is the guest of Mrs. R. McCallum; Sefton Street, Christchurch. Mrs. E. E. Short, Kimbolton road, Feilding, returned on Wednesday from a brief visit to Sydney. Mrs. Lyons end Miss Nancy Lyons, Palmerston North, have returned home from a trip to Paekakariki. Mrs. Pogden sonr., and Miso Tottio Pegden, of Park Road, Palmerston North, are visiting Wellington. Mrs. J. Rutledge, Palmerston North, is visiting Ashburton and is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. 6. Christie. Mrs. R. B. Lucas, Park Road, Palmerston North, has been the guest of Mrs. W. G. Lyons at Paekakariki. The engagement is announced between Thornlcigh, third son of Captain and Mrs. Franks of Gisborne, and Ferol, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howley, Palmerston North.
Mr and Mrs, David Bell, Kimbolton road, Feilding, returned at the weekend from a short visit to Wellington, following which they journeyed to Talhape to spend a few days with theiT daughter, Mrs. John Duncan. The engagement is announced of Kathleen Gladys Harford, youngest daughter of Mrs. Mooney and the late Mr F. 0. Harford, of Feilding, to John Henry, third son of Mr and Mrs, Robert Scott, Porangahau, Hawke s Bay. At the termination of their visit to Wellington for the medical conference, Dr and Mrs. W. Boedie, of Dannevirke, spent a short while with Mrs. Robert Mcßeth, Highfield road, Feilding, before leaving for Taupo, where they are at present spending a fortnight’s holiday, camping and fishing.
