CROSSING COOK STRAIT IN COLLASIBLE CANOE
MR. 0. BARLOW’S VENTURE.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night Mr. Charles Barlow set out to-night from Makara at 7.10 p.m. on his attempt to cross Cook Strait in a collapsible canvass canoe. There was a light north-easterly wind blowing and the sea was calm. He expects the journey to take about 16 hours and to land, all being well, in the vicinity of the Three Brothers.
