Tho second lecture of the series entitled "One Hundred Yoars Ago," which commenced last Thursday will be delivered by Mr A. Ernest Mandor in St. Andrew's Memorial Hall, tonight, at 8 o’clock. The lecturer will endeavour to conjure up a vivid picture of tho life and conditions exisiting in England at the beginning of the nineteenth century under the sub-title of "Child Slavery in England a Hundred Years Ago," which doubtless will prove a most interesting and instructive, if perhaps a trifle harrowing subject. Fow of us realise the enormous progress that has been made towards improving the standard of living of the working people during the last century, and an insight into this thought provoking discussion should prove invaluable when drawing comparisons with present-day industrial conditions. Mr A. Elliot will preside. The usual enthusiastic attendance is anticipated.
