BOOKSELLERS’ ANNUAL CONFERENCE CONCLUDES
ME. G. H. BENNETT AGAIN PRESIDENT. Per Press Association, CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The final session of the Retail Booksellers’ conference was held this morning, when the rules of the association wore amended. It was docided to hold the next conference at Wellington. in January, 1930. The olection of officers resulted as follows:—-President, Mr, G. H. Bennett (Palmerston North); vice-presidents, Messrs H. J. Edmiston (Auckland), B. E H. Whitcombe (Christchurch), W, G. Osborn (Wellington), E. A. Rosevea: (Dunedin), C. W. Poynton (Wanganui), A. R. Clarke (Timaru); executive, Messrs H. L. Humphreys (Dunedin), H. E. Pither (Mastorton), E. Avery (New Plymouth), J. Walker (Auckland), A. J. Coveney (Christchurch), L Whitcombe, R. C. O’Connor, R. E. Owen, H. V. Dallow (Wellington); hon. auditor, Mr. W. J. Osborn; representative on the advisory board of the New Zealand Employers’ Federation, Mr W. J. Osborn. A vote of thanks was passed to the hosts of the conference, the, Christchurch Retail Booksellers’ Association, coupled with the names of Messrs 25. E. H. Whitcombe and A. J. Coveney.
