STOLE FROM FRIEND TO FEED CHILDREN
PROBATION GRANTED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Avon Roderick Ayres, aged 42, a plasterer ,whcn interviewed by tho police in reference to the theft of £8 10s from a friend who spent New Year's Eve with him, said his wife had left him and he had taken tho money to feed his three young children. The probation officer said that the accused’s children were left practically alone. He thought that probation might be granted. Probation was accordingly granted, for twelve months. Restitution wai ordered of £4 10s," tho" other £4 having been recovered.
