Mooney and Co., Dunedin, who intend breeding these animals on an extensive scale for wool, pelt and stud purposes. The Angora rabbit is, of course, bred for its wool or fur, which is shorn about four times a year, j whilst the Chinchilla is bred for its*: pelt, like the ordinary wild rabbit, | Farming these breeds has been a veryj profitable industry in England and' America for some years, and it is only recently the Government lifted the embargo on their importation into New Zealand. Messrs. Thornton and fcicaife, of Wellington, who are acting as Messrs. J, K. Mooney and Coy ’s agents for the distribution of these rabbits in tho North Island, are already booking : orders for forward delivery, and full particulars may be obtained from them. ”
